Tiger Camp – August 2011
Sparky appeared at the incoming freshman Tiger Camp showcasing J.R. Tucker's robotics team. We talked with potential new members to inspire them to pursue engineering and FIRST Robotics. Showing off the robot drew lots of attention!
Ice Cream Social – September 2011
The team invited anyone interested in learning about robotics to attend an ice cream social. Nearly 50 people came out to learn about robotics and to enjoy an ice cream treat!
Homecoming Parade – October 2011
The homecoming parade was a lot of fun this year and was filled with exciting robotics events. Mr. Ciaschi, a Robotics team mentor, drove a golf cart around the outdoor track while the crowd watched and cheered. Mounika, this year's princess, rode in the front while Avi, this year's prince, hung onto the cart from the back. Both of our robotics royals were decked out in orange and blue, and of course, their Sparky t-shirts. The audience applauded as the cart sped around the track. We decorated Sparky, and carried team signs and posters to encourage others to join the team.
